The venue
RS Sjøredningsskolen is one of Norway's largest providers of maritime safety and emergency medicine training - and it supports NMC by hosting the event.
The location in Horten offers a rare variety of training environments on one site: forest, built-up urban areas, littoral and maritime settings, a pool, an industrial area and classrooms. There is a restaurant and hotel on site.
For scenario designers this means everything from sea rescue to urban search and rescue without moving the event. For teams and visitors it means short distances, real facilities and a single arena where the whole field is within walking distance.
The shape of the weekend
This is how NMC26 was organized. The 2027 program follows the same shape and is confirmed closer to the event.
Arrival and workshops
Teams arrive, are briefed, and attend workshops. In 2026: bleeding and hypothermia, guerrilla medicine, and remote damage control resuscitation - followed by a social gathering.
The competition
Nine demanding scenarios related to crisis and war, two heats, every team scored at every station. Open to the public, with sponsor and exhibitor areas throughout the arena.
Workshop and wrap-up
In 2026: a point-of-care ultrasound workshop before the venue was rigged down.
Draft program
An illustrative draft so you can plan travel and leave - not the confirmed program.
